ARLIS Cataloguing and Classification Committee needs members!

ARLIS Cataloguing and Classification Committee vacancies

Are you interested in art materials cataloguing and classification?  Do you want to contribute to research and training events in this area? This open call invites new members to join the ARLIS Cataloguing & Classification Committee.

Getting involved with our work offers a great opportunity to become more involved with ARLIS, as well as our work supporting and promoting the cataloguing and classification of art materials in a time of change.  You will learn new skills, network, and help disseminate knowledge on this key aspect of art librarianship.

There are a variety of responsibilities involved including helping to organise and stage our talks, events and publications programme, and managing our website and social media.

Previous committee work is not essential, and we welcome involvement from members at various stages in their career, including MA LIS students and recently qualified professionals.

Work on the committee is voluntary and open to all ARLIS members. The committee meets in person four times a year, and the next meeting will be held in January 2018 in London.

To apply, please send us a summary of your experience or your CV, along with a supporting statement (max. 200 words) outlining your interest in the joining the committee.  Applications should be emailed to Nicky Ransom, at nransom2@uca.ac.uk and must reach us by 15th November 2017.

Please get in touch with us if you have any questions, and please forward these details to anyone else you think might be interested.
