Venue facilities and accessibility:

The conference will take place over 3 floors.  Most sessions will be located in the main lecture theatres on the ground floor. Workshops and CSM Library tours will be located on the first and second floors of the building.

Full access and route guides to Central Saint Martins are available on AccessAble. All entrances to the building are at ground level with step-free access. Lifts and access needs toilets are available on all floors.

For a virtual tour of Central Saint Martins please find a Google tour on this page (hover over each floor to see tour locations – The Street, Canteen, Platform Theatre and Theatre bar will all be used for the conference).

Please note that although the college will be much quieter than it would be during the term there are some spaces that can get noisy and echoey (in particular The Street, and the Theatre Bar).  If you use noise reducing earplugs it would be useful to have these with you.

There will be several quiet spaces that delegates can use should you need to.  These will include our conference Maker Space with jigsaws, craft material and zine making; and the CSM Library which will be available for delegates to use throughout the conference.

If you require further information about the venue please do get in touch with us to enquire: arlisconference24@gmail.com

Pre-reading/ listening/ thinking: Conference Padlet

As well as professional inspiration and learning we hope that this conference will inspire critical thought and discussion.  Our conference padlet provides items that have caught our interest in recent months: news and journal articles, podcast episodes, government reports, institutional policies, and more.

Please add your own items of interest and use this resource to kick-start your critical thinking around this very immediate topic remembering that the goal of this conference is to create an encouraging space for collective thought and learning. This requires intentional behaviour, wherein delegates are conscious of and accountable for the effect of their statements and actions on others.  We respect our experiences and the experiences of others and recognise that we can’t do this work without one another.  We agree to hold each other accountable to foster a Brave, Friendly Space.

Laptops:

Please bring your laptop, tablet or other digital device for participation in our conference workshops.  Feel free to download any of the AI tools suggested on our conference padlet.

Local visits:

This year’s conference programme doesn’t include specific visits but we hope that you will take time to visit some of the local London institutions.  We’ve included a variety of museums and galleries on our conference map, all of which are within walking distance (or a short bus ride) of the venue.
