ARLIS Conference, Dublin, July 2017

ARLIS/UK & Ireland: the Art Libraries Society is pleased to announce:

[R]evolution: Re-imagining the Art Library

12-14 July 2017

National Gallery of Ireland

Dublin

The 2017 conference entitled [R]evolution: Re-imagining the Art Library will explore the questions and challenges affecting art libraries today and how we as a profession respond to this constantly and rapidly changing environment. The need to develop in this 21st century landscape is accepted but the direction(s) we might take is not so clear. The conference will address the following issues:

  • Do we simply evolve, slowly making the necessary changes?
  • Do we revolt against prevailing practices, in favour of a new system?
  • Should we reassess the art library?
  • How do we justify our worth?
  • How do we house our collections and deliver our services in a way that works for both our users and our collections?

There will also be plenty of opportunities to visit Dublin’s art libraries, museums and galleries to explore and learn more about the treasures the city has to offer.

More details to follow.
