Central Saint Martins Library goes 24/4.

In a dauntless move Central Saint Martins Library, University of the Arts London (UAL), has embarked on a ten-week 24 hour opening pilot. The pilot commenced on 11 January and will see the library leaving its doors well and truly open each week from Monday morning at 09:00 to Friday evening at 22:00.

The RFID-enabled library is operating self-service from 22:00-09:00, with a team of three security guards staffing and maintaining the space. Of course Central Saint Martins is not the first art library to offer 24-hour opening, but the unique levels of usage it already experiences should make for an interesting ten weeks.
